You will receive a seed packet containing 0.5 grams or a minimum of 25 fresh Rhubarb Victoria seeds. Rhabarbarum commonly known as Victoria Rhubarb is a deciduous perennial vegetable and a member of the buckwheat family called Polygonaceae. Originally native to Southern Siberia and named by the Russians, Rhubarb is now grown in much of Europe and North America. In 1837 Joseph Myatt, an English plant breeder cultivated his variety of Rhubarb and named it after Queen Victoria, giving it the name Victoria Rhubarb. Myatt’s variety has the distinct red stalks that Rhubarb is known for today. The leaves of the Rhubarb plant are inedible but the beautiful stalks are used in jams, jellies, pies, and many other desserts! Rhubarb is easy to grow and once established will return year after year making it a delicious and unique garden staple!
